Date: 11/7/20 Time: 6:30pm Owner: Colton K. Location: Near Flandreau, South Dakota.      Materials: Plastic lenses  Black frames  Condition: Newer (6-months-old) Type of glasses: Prescription, needed to fix his lazy eye, nearsighted The story behind the glasses: These glasses belong to my nephew Colton who, like his brothers and sister, loves to go hunting. These glasses have had a rather interesting time being in the possession of my nephew. While he was playing football he accidentally stepped on them. It broke the frames and they had to be fixed with super glue. Then another time he was playing football the ball hit him in the face. That made the super glue break and it had to fixed again. I am very used to seeing him with the glasses on. So, it is rather odd when I seem him without them. I'm just not used to it.

Date: 11/9/20 Time: 1:00pm Owner: Stacy B. Location: Madison, South Dakota.      Materials: Plastic lenses  Black frames  Condition: Old (a few years old) Type of glasses: Prescription  The story behind the glasses: These glasses belong to a professor/advisor of mine Dr. Stacy Berry. She has been very helpful to me throughout this semester and in the classes, I have taken with her. These glasses have a pretty interesting story attached to them. When Dr. Berry ordered the first pair of these they were the wrong prescription so she sent them back. However, after she did this they were out of the frames she wanted. So, almost a year later she got an email saying the frames she wanted were available. She immediately ordered them and got the pair of glasses you see in the picture. Also, the glasses are sitting next to one of her favorite elephants. They came with the right prescription this time and she started using them. However, once everything went on...

Glasses getting a haircut

Date: 11/3/20 Time: 1:05pm Owner: Annette C. Location: Pipestone, Minnesota     Materials: Plastic lenses  Brown purplish frames  Condition: Old (5-years-old) Type of glasses: Perscription  The story behind the glasses: These glasses belong to the woman who has been giving my haircuts since I was pretty young. She was nice enough to help me set up this engaging picture. She had dropped these glasses and a few different times. On more that one occasion she has had one of her grandchildren bump heads with her. This knocked the glasses off of her head, thankfully not damaging them. She does not need them to see close up. Which is pretty helpful considering she styles and cuts hair. In any case, she has never given me a bad haircut.

Glasses on a table

Date: 11/1/20 Time: 1:01pm Owner: Jeffery K. Location: near Flandreau, South Dakota    Materials: Plastic lenses with bifocals at the top   Black metal frames  Condition: Old (4-years-old) Type of glasses: Perscription  The story behind the glasses: These glasses belong to my uncle Jeff, my dad's older brother. He is a person I usually see with his glasses on. Though he has had several pairs of them over the years. I really can not think of him without his glasses. Now he has not lost or sat on these glasses there is an interesting story linked to them. Just a week or two, on a Sunday, to be specific, before this picture was taken he had accidentally dropped them. Both of the lenses popped out. Thankfully he had a backup pair he could use for a while. He called his eye doctor, who came over personally and fixed my uncle's glasses. This is something you really don't see much anymore.

Deer need Glasses to

Date: 10/29/20 Time: 4:37pm Owner: Thomas K. Location: near Flandreau, South Dakota    Materials: Plastic lenses  Black frames  Condition: Newer (4-months-old) Type of glasses: Readers The story behind the glasses: These glasses belong to my dad. He generally does not wear them much since he only bought these readers at Dollar General the day before he was going in for his DOT physical so he could renew his commercial driver's license. Since he is a truck driver he needs to renew that license regularly. In the current situation, our country is facing I would argue that he is an essential worker. Anyway as to why the glasses are on a stuffed deer head. My dad is very big into hunting. So, though I never really see him wearing these glasses I see this deer head every time I walk into our family room. I have always liked the look of it and have been looking at it for years. One of my friends remarked that the deer looks like he is saying, "Yes, do you want someth...

Glasses who like their coffee

Date: 10/29/20 Time: 4:30pm Owner: LaRae K. Location: near Flandreau, South Dakota    Materials: Plastic lenses  Black and turquoise frames  Condition: Newer (3 months old) Type of glasses: Readers The story behind the glasses: These are a pair of reading glasses that belong to my mother. Now unlike the other three pairs of glasses that I have posted about, I have seen my mom wear these glasses several times before. If she is not wearing them they are usually on her head or laying on the table. She usually has these ones on when she is reading something on the computer. Another time I see her wearing them is when she is playing a game on her phone called Wordscapes. She will be wearing her glasses, taking regular sips from her coffee mug, and playing her game. She has no problem admitting that she needs them to read small print. Also, I am used to seeing her wearing these glasses at last a few times a week.

Glasses with a Teddy trying to read a manual

Date: 10/22/20 Time: 8:18pm Owner: Julie S. Location: near Flandreau, South Dakota    Materials: Plastic lenses  Black and grey frames  Condition: Old (8-years-old) Type of glasses: Readers The story behind the glasses: Well now that Teddy looks like he trying to read that car manual. In any case those glasses do make him look smart. Now those glasses belong to my friend Julie. She has never needed glasses in her live but these glasses do help her read print. Before she got them she found out that "Apparently holding a book 2 feet away from your face is not normal." She adamant about not wearing them all the time, only wearing them when she is reading print. Otherwise, she usually takes pictures of whatever she is trying to read with her phone. Then she can zoom in so she can read it without her glasses. The only real positive thing she said about her glasses is they make her look smart. I have not seen her in these glasses, at least I cannot remember seeing her in t...
